Piano Bench Love

The piano bench is the most popular seat in our house
when it comes to the shorties.
It was time for some new threads for this girl.

Some new fabric and paint
and she's ready for some new tunes.
I used Annie Sloan Old White and Duck Egg Blue,
then dark AS wax.

Lots of good times happened here.
Little fingers dancing and little toes tapping
to the happy tunes they learned and performed with pride.

Under construction...
House of Blues comes to the house.

Ready for tune time and little fingers.

Hope you have a fun filled weekend
doing whatever makes you happy~

  1. It looks like your home is filled with warm hearted music and family fun. Our daughter was home for a visit not long ago and me had a family jam session in the living room. It was the high-lite of her visit. Music is such a wonderful thing to share. Love your blog. Your new fan Connie

  2. If that bench could only talk. The kids look really into their performances. I can still remember like yesterday learning to play three blind mice as a kid, boy was I proud.

  3. That fabric is so swanky! But the little fingers are too precious...and leave sticky stuff all over those ivorys... at least, here they do!

  4. Oh, Tina, this looks great! A few years back I bought an upright (really cheap) ~ the carving looks a lot like yours ~ anyway, we had another piano (for playing) ~ so after trying and trying to keep the upright tuned with no luck, (the soundboard was cracked) we dismantled it ~ I am still deciding on how to use the different parts ~ thinking about using the backboard and side wood turnings to add to a sideboard(as a backing and shelf)...one of those "hybrid" antiques, you know?
    Great post!

  8. I never knew it possible to feel this jealous over a piano and a piano bench. I am positively green with envy, but at least it's St. Patrick's Day so I have an excuse. Beautiful!!!

  10. What a gorgeous transformation. I can see why this is the best seat in the house.

I love the fabric and the paint color combo you used.
