I did this embroidery on cream linen last year, but never got around to making the pillow.
I stitched it up last night and added a ribbon of torn velvet.
I wish I had trimmed it in this ribbon instead, but oh, well.
It will be put away in a week, so I didn't even stitch the bottom closed.
Nothing will happen, right?
Winter never really arrived this year.
We are enjoying temps in the high 60's today, with a cool front approaching.
Our lows will then dip into the high 30's.
Welcome to winter in south Texas.
I feel bad for my friends up north...even Texas has snow somewhere.
Did you get some up in the Panhandle?
I love these words and so agree.
It is the time for home.
I like the sentiment--It is the time for home. And you did a lovely job on the pillow! Not much of a winter here in central Virginia either. :-(
ReplyDeletewe got 2 dustings of snow/ice this year so it was more of a winter than last year was for NE Tx. i'll take it.
ReplyDeleteTina.... I think we need to see more of your house. I was gawking really hard to see more of a room I think I would really like.

Your pillow is gorgeous! We are still buried in snow (even though some melted today) and we have another system coming tomorrow. They aren't sure if it will be snow or rain...weathermen. lol
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
Your needlework is beautiful, glad you brought it out to enjoy for a bit! Mild winter here in Philly too, but I don't say that too loudly, we're no stranger to March snow storms:@)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful handwork! It just turned cold here after several unseasonably warm days, so I'm ready for some winter sentiments.
ReplyDeleteYou gto you pillow made in the nick of time! Even way up north, the weather is warm and sunny and the snow is melting.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to sit on that cozy chair by the fireplace. The pillow is perfect right where it is.
Home, whether it be inside or outside, is always nice!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteIt was in the 80's today and yesterday...yuck! I'm looking forward to the 60's at the end of the week. :)
ReplyDeleteThat pillow is beautiful and I love the saying on it. It's perfect-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI have a pillow similar that began as a white dishtowel..love the saying! We got 19" of snow in one day..at least that's what they said in amarillo, lots stuck on the scary roads. I was stuck inside a nice warm home and should have been sewing cute pillows
ReplyDeleteI was awakened by icy rain hitting my windows last night. Your lovely pillow warmed me right up. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pillow Tina!!! I don't want anything that reminds me of winter anymore though lol - here in Montreal it's hit that grey dirty looking stuff stage.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
Suzan
Okay I KNOW this isn't the point of your post BUT...if that pig on your shelf mysteriously disappears, please don't come to Pennsylvania to retrieve it :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and gorgeous fireplace BTW...
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
I love your house!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your embroidery, of course!!
I dream of moving south to get away from our winters. Then I could just go "visit" some snow if I want to see it all pretty like.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of embroidery machine do you have? My mom and I were talking about them the other day. She is interested in purchasing one and likes what you have done with yours.
And to think that storm started in Texas... just didn't start that far south, I guess! I love the last photo... cozy place to relax by the fire! Your pillow complements the entire look.. great job!
ReplyDeleteSweet words the remember. I'm afraid I've been home eating too much comfort food & I need to get up moving. Your vignette/ pillow are pretty. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely the time to stay home. because it is too darn cold to venture out. I definitely envy your warm weather. Love the pillow :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Love the pillow!
ReplyDeletelove your pretty pillow, and the chair it's sitting on! beautiful room, tina, very cozy looking. have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNothing will happen...except you'll be missing that pretty pillow when you put it away for the season! Did you hand stitch that?? So precise!
ReplyDeleteCute pillow. Please share your project at www.creativecraftsthursday.blogspot.com each and every week and check out what other creative divas are up to.
ReplyDeleteYour pillow is just beautiful! I enjoy a couple of months of winter - it feels so cozy, but now I am ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteHope you can stop by the enchanted oven for a visit.
xo,
Lisa
Such a pretty pillow with lovely wording. We don't get a lot of snow in the piedmont of NC...more ice than anything. I miss living in the mountains for this reason and many more.

Hi Tina, thanks for joining the Rock N Share! I really liked the cozy fireside picture with the pillow! Lovely sentiment. I hope to see you again at the Rock N Share!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having the same Winter we are. Only we aren't getting into the 30's but should get into the 40's tomorrow night. I'm loving it. Home is definitely the place to be with cushy socks, a blanket and a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteLiz
I love your whole mantel/ chair/ shelves vignette (from what I can see)-it all looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSusan
A nice sentiment and lovely pillow. Our winter in the foothills here in the pacific northwest has been milder than most. I always look forward to the change of seasons as it parallels life.
ReplyDeleteYour chair is perfect placed .. and ready for someone to sit upon it with a great book:)

I love this pillow. What a beautiful quote!
