Random 5 Friday

Good morning!
I'm awake much earlier this morning and thought I'd link up with
Nancy for Random 5 Friday.
As you well know, random is just my style!
 Enjoy.

1. I got to hold a baby squirrel this week.
Those are not my hands, but Magoo's.
The poor little thing had been captured as a new play toy by
Bruce and Maggie.
Skirl Girl is all wet from dog slobber, but not harmed.

Maggie just got adopted next door and she and Bruce are now besties.
Sophie and Henry try to keep up with them.

I should live on a farm, I tell you.

2. I went to the doctor this week for a check up.
When the nurse announced my weight, I nearly fell over.
I'd gained 5 pounds.
WTH?
You mean those chocolate covered cranberries have calories???
Then my blood pressure was elevated.
Ya think???
I informed them that perhaps blood pressure check might come
before the scale next time.
I do not have high blood pressure in general.
They made me have it with their lying scale!

3. I want one of these.

4. My automobile is navy blue.
Usually.
Right now it is a putrid shade of yellow, completely masked in pollen.
I love my trees, but right now they are really pissing me off.
I can't wear my contacts, either.
That yellow sandstorm makes it impossible.

5.  My new chocolate crush:
Dark Chocolate with Wasabi.
I told you I was weird.
Spicy chocolate is delish.
Have a great weekend!

  1. Tina!!!! I LOVE your Five. I can't decide which I enjoy the most - Although, the screaming sheep has me laughing still.

I'm just now thinking of my own five - Pollen, already??? Yikers.

    love & love,

  2. I'm thinking you are going to receive the "most unusual 5 facts" award today. Totally awesome to learn this about you Tina.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Lucky little squirrel ... I told my DR recently that maybe my elevated BP reading just might be Dr's Office Stress. She just nodded ... There are no calories in the Dark Chocolate Wasabi. Eating this may help lower BP ... Otherwise you will feel like the sheep ... Or is that caused by cleaning all that yellow pollen off of everything ... Playing with the pretty doggies is a great stress reducer ... unless they catch another baby squirrel ... repeat ... ;) Pat

  4. An awesome 5! My corgi does not know what to do with a squirrel, but he earns his keep as a mole killer! I want a sheep but not a screaming one...and chickens. FreshKote eyedrops have enabled me to keep my contacts in through the pollen season, but they are freakin expensive. And I love spicy chocolate and now I have to make some Cayenne brownies, because I have never seen the wasabi chocolate...but I'll look when I go to town. And BTW...cayenne pepper is awesome in hot cocoa!

  5. A great five! I don't need a screaming sheep...I have 4 kids already. I saw some chocolate the other day that I REALLY wanted but didn't buy (I'm so good) sea salt and caramel...OMG. I had sea salt and caramel ice cream in Paris and decided I could eat a gallon of the stuff! I'm not sure about the wasabi chocolate but I'll keep that in mind....

  6. What great random facts! That little squirrel is so cute and I'm glad you were able to rescue it!

I went to the doctor with my sister a couple months ago and she got on the scale to be weighed with her coat and shoes and all on. Well, she was appalled by the weight but told the nurse "it's probably my coat". So later on during the visit when her coat was off, she made the nurse walk back to the scale with her and weighed herself again. It was TEN WHOLE POUNDS of difference. Her coat weighs ten pounds! The nurse and I were both baffled!!

I love those screaming sheep! They are so so fun!!

  7. Love your five. I hate the Dr's scale -it is such a liar!;>) I can't imagine having pollen like that- ugh....it is probably worse than snow- xo Diana

  8. Tina,
interesting and fun reading your 5! Thank goodness you were able to save that little squirrel from it's slobber bath! For a minute there, I thought that screaming sheep was me, not that I've done a lot of screaming lately but there have been a couple of close calls where I wanted to! As to the rest, Drs always make our stress level go up and we all know that the scales are rigged to make us panic! As for chocolate, I've conquered my addiction, at least for now and, luckily, I have no allergies so I'm ok there!
    Have a good weekend!

  11. I love your random 5! The baby squirrel is soooooo sweet--incredible! Your dogs are adorable, too. Hug them to help your BP. I hate getting on the scale at the doctor's. I step up and look away from the scale, afraid of the number that will pop up! :-)

  12. LOL! I once had two doctor appointments in the space of a week. I was ten pounds heavier at the first appointment than I was at the second. After that day, I have never trusted their machines again. I prefer to think of myself as ten pounds lighter, thank you very much. I lie to myself on a regular basis. Love those squirrel pics. They are such cute little buggers.

  15. now that is a chocolate i really must try - what an interesting combo. cool!! cute doggies. ( :

i think weighting should be outlawed when any where unless we are behind closed doors & curtains. i had to list my weight for my drivers licenses recently - & i hated it with a passion - then i got my DL & i'm really sad about my pic ... i look like i have billion chins. why do they do this to people? can we use a glamour shot or something? seems only fair.

    have a good weekend.

  16. Oh you do have a fun blog...so enjoyed reading it. The little squirrel with slobber all over it was just too cute. Are you serious....I honestly did not know that those chocolate covered cranberries had calories (giggle)

  17. I didn't think I'd like dark chocolate with sea salt, but it's good too. Your Random 5 were fun to read! Sorry about the five pounds...I'm doing Nutri-System myself right now for MORE than five awful pounds! :-) That baby squirrel is precious! The dogs are so cute...hope you were able to keep the baby away from them after the pic!

  20. Spicy chocolate is the BEST! :) Squirrel is so adorable, and i'm glad unharmed. And your dogs are wonderful. Maybe you 'should' live on a farm? :D

  21. Only five pounds? Girl you should be celebrating! And I'll take your pollen and raise you 3 feet of snow.

    What an adorable baby squirrel!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh, yes... spicy chocolate!!! I'll have to find that Wasabi... though I tried some wasabi almonds and almost hurled.

Maybe I'll stick with Chili Peppers... Maybe even some Red Hot ones.

  23. Fun to see a baby squirrel. One of my brothers had a baby raccoon once and it was sooo cute. Glad your squirrel didn't get slobbered to death.

I was thinking how pretty all those lavender flowers on the grass looked. Are they related to your pollen problem? They sure make a beautiful blanket.

Lyin' scales. Ha! You crack me up.

  24. I'm on board with the chocolate and wasabi- I've never tried it, but I'd like to.

The screaming sheep is how I've felt for the past two days. Hormonal and weird and my ovaries hurt!

That squirrel...so precious! Were the dogs just trying to love on her? So glad she's okay. Curtis took out a whole family of birds in our backyard last summer. At the third one, I burst into tears. Very disturbing all around.

ALL of your dogs are the cutest. So glad Bruce has a new bestie!

I'm off to eat more Kit Kats..when in Rome...

    xo

  26. My car is white, or most of the time we call it a shade of Dirt Road Brown. Kind of a greige color, yeah I'll go with the trendy name.

Bruce has a friend, oh no, did you warn the neighbors about sleeping on the couch and waking up with a hat?
